Netflix has delighted fans with this faithful adaption from the acclaimed novel
Netflix does a lot to anger its viewers often, at least that is what social media would have you believe.
From green-lighting shows no one asked for to cancelling fan favorites after just one season.
But people on Reddit are all in agreement that one of the streaming giant’s latest TV shows is brilliant and deserves a second season as soon as possible.
To top it all off, as well as a good fan reception, currently sitting at 91 percent on Rotten Tomatoes on the popcornmeter, it has also been received well by critics, sitting with a score of 89 percent.
Fans simply can’t get enough of the show and have called it a faithful adaptation of the source material (Netflix)
The show in question? One Hundred Years of Solitude, based on the acclaimed novel by Gabriel García Márquez.
Writing on Reddit board, Netflix Best of, user Autumnlover1515, started the conversation after stating just how much they loved the show.
They wrote: “Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s masterpiece is finally available on Netflix, and I am so happy for it.
“I am on E1 and just finishing. It was gripping, interesting, beautiful at times and odd. So, I cannot wait to keep watching how this adaptation carries on.
“I am loving the actors, and it is very well produced. They took their sweet time to release this, so… I have high hopes.”
Other users also praised the series and demanded a season 2.
Another user commented: “Two episodes in and I love it!!! even though some of the context of the book is lost, the detail and feeling are still just as captivating. So glad it will not be rushed or turned into another copy-paste Netflix show.”
Another added: “I just finished the series, it’s only half of the book! They better make the second part!”
With a third writing: “I got the same good vibes as when I was two episodes into the first season of Game of Thrones, another book I feared would translate badly to the screen.
Fans have demanded a second season to cover the rest of the book it is based on (Netflix)
