It was quite an unorthodox way of trying to get their attention
Riley Reid has spoken about a weird way she tried to get the attention of celebrities she fancied.
Reid, real name Ashley Mathews, has been shooting adult content since 2010 but says she ‘doesn’t love’ doing it so much now.
With a husband and daughter, it changed her outlook on her life and career as she told the Shadow Banned podcast about figuring herself out and this next part of her life.
“It’s been really fun, it’s definitely been a different identity process of me trying to figure out who this new version of myself is,” she said.
“And so like I remember having my identity crisis when I was in porn, being like ‘who am I?’ and like ‘what is this?’.
“And so now I’m trying to renavigate myself within, trying to parent as well as be like a business person and so that’s been really interesting.”
She’s considered one of the highest earning figures on OnlyFans, being estimated to be making about $25,000 (£19,900) a day, and has a net worth of around $19 million (£15 million).
Reid has made some changes to her career over the years, having announced that she wouldn’t be shooting more scenes with male co-stars.
She told the What They Don’t Tell You podcast that working in the adult industry had made a dating life difficult as ‘they met me first in their mind as Riley’ and she had to ‘teach them that I’m Ashley’.
Now married, she’s not so much in the habit of sliding into the DMs of celebrities she’s taken a shine to, but she did open up about a method she used to use.
She appeared on the Stiff Socks (try not to think about it too much) podcast and talked about sliding into the DMs of celebrities she fancied.
Reid was chatting with the hosts about photoshop when she said that had been her way to try and chat up celebrities.
“That used to be my way of sliding into celebrities DMs, like I used to photoshop,” she told them. “Dillon Francis, I wanted to hook up with him so bad years ago, so I would photoshop his face on different guys that I was like, in my porn scenes.
“I would just send it to him and be like ‘thinking about you’.
“He was nice but we never hung out or anything.”
One thing she’s very much not happy with about being married with a kid is something she saw coming a mile off, people trolling her child online.
She posted a video calling the behaviour out, saying: “The amount of people who leave mean comments about my baby is crazy to me.
“Grow up. Stop being mean to a baby.”
