Diddy’s children have broken their silence after their father’s arrest, which saw him be charged with sex trafficking offenses.

The rapper, whose real name is Sean Combs, was arrested at the Park Hyatt hotel in Manhattan, New York on September 16.

Diddy has since been charged with racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion. Though he has denied all charges against him, the rapper has been denied bail for the second time.

Following Comb’s arrest, his lawyer Marc Agnifilo said: “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the US Attorney’s Office.

“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person but is not criminal.”

Three of the rapper’s children posted a joint statement on Tuesday night (24 September) following the arrest to address ‘false rumors’ that have been spread about their mother, Kim Porter.

Christian, 26, Jessie, and D’Lila, both 17, posted the statement to their Instagram accounts, while Porter’s eldest son Quincy, 33, also signed the statement.

It read: “We have seen so many hurtful and false rumours circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship, as well as about our mom’s tragic passing, that we feel the need to speak out.

“Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue. She did not, and anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves.

“Additionally, please understand that any so-called ‘friend’ speaking on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend, nor do they have her best interests at heart.”

The statement continued: “Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world. And nothing has been the same since she passed. While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established.”

The siblings concluded the statement by asking for privacy.
