Taylor Swift reacts to fan sign calling her a childless cat lady at Chiefs game

Taylor Swift had a hilarious response after seeing a Chiefs fan with a sign calling her a “childless cat lady”.

The singer, who is never far from the headlines, publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for president a few days ago.

Swift broke her silence on the 2024 election in an Instagram post, signing off as “Childless Cat Lady”.

The “childless cat lady” phrase nods to a recent comment by JD Vance, the Republican vice-presidential nominee, who criticized “childless cat ladies” in a speech.

In her post, Swift wrote: “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”

This marks Swift’s first public political statement for the 2024 race.

As reported by BBC News, just 24 hours after the star posted, nearly 340,000 people visited the voter registration site through a link she shared.

Swift’s endorsement of Harris has sparked significant attention, with some suggesting it could influence the upcoming election.

Swift’s decision to speak out was partly motivated by the circulation of an AI-generated image falsely showing her endorsing Trump.

“It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” she said. “It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter.”

Trump, in response to the endorsement, told Fox News he was “not a Taylor Swift fan,” describing her as a “very liberal person” and predicting she would “pay the price for it in the marketplace.”

In the aftermath, Swift attended Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

While there, she couldn’t contain her laughter after spotting the sign that referenced her newfound political moniker.

The sign, which read: “We love our childless cat lady and 87,” referenced Swift and Kelce, with the number 87 being his jersey number.

Swift was not alone at the game, as she was joined by her good friend, fellow musician Danielle Haim, as well as her mother Andrea and brother Austin.

Sporting a red oversized Chiefs t-shirt, Swift was fully engaged in the game, even fanning herself when Kelce took the field.

Her excitement peaked when Harrison Butker kicked a game-winning field goal, securing a one-point victory for the Chiefs.

Not only does Swift have immense power in the world of music, but she’s evidently engaging her fans in politics as well.

As childless cat ladies go, Swift is doing pretty well.
