Britney Spears and Kevin Federline’s youngest son, Jayden James, will be turning 18 today (September 12)
Britney Spears’ child support payments to her ex-husband Kevin Federline are said to be coming to an end upon their youngest son’s 18th birthday today (September 12).
The singer and Federline were married in 2004 and have two sons together, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
In 2006, Spears filed for divorce from the choreographer, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ at the time, PEOPLE reports.
Following a custody battle, Federline received full custody of their children in 2006 after Spears was placed in a conservatorship, with the ‘Gimme More’ singer being granted expanded visits in 2008.
In 2019, their custody agreement updated to allow Spears 30 percent unsupervised custodial rights, as per E! News.
Today (September 12) marks Jayden James’ 18th birthday, which, according to The Daily Mail, will reportedly issue an end to his child support payments from his mother.
Sean Preston turned 18 on September 14 last year.
A source claimed that the pop star has paid an ‘extraordinary’ amount towards the care of her children – which has been estimated to have been more than $5 million dollars over 17 years.
The source claimed to the publication: “The amount of money Britney has given Kevin for the two boys is extraordinary and it is enough for any man to support an entire family, which is what she believes he has done.”

They continued to say: “Britney is hearing that he is not a happy camper, while Britney is living her best life.”
It was also alleged further that Britney won’t be spending the day with her son – which the source claimed the Crossroads star is disappointed about – as he is currently lives in Hawaii with his father and his third wife, Victoria Price, and is expected to be ‘celebrating with his friends’.
However, they further claimed that she is allegedly going to get him a gift that ‘is more expensive than anything his father could afford’.
UNILAD has contacted Spears and Federline’s reps for comment.
Federline had previously spoken out about his son’s relationship with their mother following the termination of her conservatorship in 2021, which saw her father, Jamie Spears, assume control over her life and finances – a decision he claimed ‘saved her life’.

Federline told ITV in 2022 that Sean Preston and Jayden James had decided not to see their mother, saying: “The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now.”
He described the situation as ‘tough’ and ‘the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in my life’.
Spears issued a response to her ex-husband’s comments on Instagram, writing that it ‘sadden’ her to hear him talk about her relationship with her sons, adding: “As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone … it concerns me the fact that the reason is based on my Instagram … I gave them everything … Only one word: HURTFUL … I’ll say it … My mother told me “You should GIVE them to their dad” … I’m sharing this because I can … Have a good day folks !!!”
