Mum-of-three Krystal’s husband came round to her way of thinking after the Covid-19 pandemic
“I prep for anything,” she revealed. “Whether the grid were to collapse and the power turns off, if there’s another pandemic, civil war, civil unrest or World War Three.
“We always prepare for the worst case scenario and we always hope for the best case scenario.”
While Krystal was prepared for such things for many years, it was the pandemic that consolidated her fears and helped her husband Derrick understand the importance of prepping – despite having previously thought his wife’s point of view was a little ‘extreme’.
“My opinion towards prepping and being prepared changed right round [the time of] the pandemic,” Derrick admitted.

He went on to say that it was ‘really good to see’ that during the hardships that the pandemic brought, they knew as a family that they had enough food and other amenities to keep them going.
Echoing similar sentiments, Krystal’s friend Carla thought she was ‘bat s**t crazy’ at first, but turned to her pal for advice when the pandemic hit.
Krystal’s current goal is to have a three-year food supply squirrelled away in case of an emergency.
In the YouTube episode, she explained that she grows her own vegetables in her garden that she preserves in jars – something which Krystal says has saved her ‘thousands of dollars’.
Krystal documents her prepping antics on her TikTok page where she’s hailed as the ‘Doomsday Queen’.
Her videos have so far amassed thousands of views, with some of her followers credited Krystal for them starting to start their own doomsday prepping.
“Thanks to you I have my home prepped,” one person penned on her page. “I’ve been seeing so much this year that has me worried but thankfully I have a generator, water machine. Radios, solar panels, food and water.”

Another person raved: “We’ve learned so much from you! You are amazing!”
In one of her videos Krystal details five must-haves to add to your prep space: cordage, a knife, a water purifier, a tarp and freeze dried food.
Better safe than sorry, I guess!
