Woman ‘exposes’ relationship after discovering mystery phone hidden under carpet

The phone had been hidden for at least nine years

A woman who found a stranger’s phone hidden in her house was shocked by what she discovered when she managed to turn it on.

Content creator Dee Crawford shared the odd find as she revealed her son Grayson had discovered an old pink LG Shine phone hidden behind their stairs carpet.

Taking to TikTok, Dee explained that the phone must have been carefully hidden behind the carpet on their stair treads, and had been totally hidden until her son found it.

The old phone wasn’t Dee’s, her husband’s or her son’s, leading them to wonder who owned it and just how long it had been hidden away in their home.

Having lived in their current home for nine years, they guessed that it must be owned by whoever lived there before.

After finally taking the step to get the old LG phone turned on, they weren’t quite expecting to make such an unexpected discovery.

The phone had messages between its owner and a man named Atticus, which were described by Dee as ‘spicy’ and hinting at a sexual relationship.

@domeafavorstl I KNOW its not from 1997 but my son was very convincing in the first video ok?! 😂 What do we want to see next? Should i try to call ICE MOM and see if she knows who Addicus is?! In a follow-up TikTok video, Dee highlighted some of the sexy messages in the phone’s inbox.

TikTok fans have immediately jumped in to try and guess who the phone belongs to, as many offered theories including that it could belong to a ‘millennial’ who would be embarrassed over the messages being exposed.

One TikTok comment reads: “There is some elder millennial out there that is going to come across this video and absolutely panic.”

Another shared their idea that the phone owner was ‘having an affair with the previous owner’ of Dee’s home.

Delving deeper into the phone also brought up more clues, and some that freaked Dee and her family out.

The phone also had photos stored on it of a dog, that bore an eerie resemblance to Dee’s dog Clark, a rescue.

Determined to try and unravel the mystery and find the owner of the phone, Dee contacted one of the listed contacts known as ‘ICE Mom’.

After speaking with ICE Mom and convincing her that this wasn’t a scam, but actually a very odd turn of events, Dee had more clues to who might own the phone.

ICE Mom suggested that it could be owned by her daughter, who previously lived behind Dee’s home.

Yet after Dee spoke with the daughter and allowed her to look at the phone, she denied it was hers and instead offered another theory.

She suggested that it could belong to her sister, but that her sister didn’t want it back.

TikTok viewers have been following the wild phone mystery and have now been left sceptical as one commented on the video: “That’s odd. I’d want my phone back and would wanna know how it got there.”

@domeafavorstl Replying to @Tricia so, what do we do now?! They dont want their phone back and i still have NO idea how it got in our house. #fypシ #burnerphone #staircasephone #lgshine #ugh #unsolvedmysteries ♬ original sound – DoMeAFavorSTL

Another shared: “So my buddy said he knows how it got there. It was a stolen phone. Battery was removed to keep it from being tracked.”

“I get it. I’m a private person – you’ve showed messages and stuff to the whole world from the phone. I would want nothing to do with it even if it is from many years ago,” said a third.

The last video from Dee saw her tell viewers that she’d spoken to someone who had ‘confirmed [the phone] was theirs and that they lived close to me at one point, they have no idea how the phone got in my house nor do they care to get it back’.

“Unfortunately, the mystery remains unsolved!” she concluded.
