Rapper gets gold chains surgically implanted into his head to resemble hair

A rapper has caused a stir on social media after getting chains surgically “implanted” into his head.

Musician Dan Sur, 26, wanted to stand out from the crowd, and so he has revealed that he chose to get gold and silver hooks embedded into his skull and under his skin. The rapper now uses those hooks to create a head of metal “hair” using gold chains.

…I guess nobody told him about Just For Men Hair and Beard.

The reggaeton rapper and producer reportedly underwent the bizarre hair replacement procedure in April 2021. He revealed the jaw-dropping look to his almost seven million followers on TikTok.

Since then, his profile page has been littered with videos of him showing off his strange headpiece.

According to the New York Post, the Spanish-speaking artist shed light on how his head chain situation worked, revealing: “I have it as a hook that is implanted in my head and that hook has hooks and they are all hooked in my skull, under my skin.

“This is my hair. Golden hair. The first rapper to have gold hair implanted in human history,” he then added.

The outlet also stated that the flashy entertainer explained that he went for the unconventional look because he “wanted to do something different,” before adding that he doesn’t want anyone to copy him.

A plastic surgeon named Dr. Frank Agullo has echoed his statement and advised people against implanting anything into their heads as it is a very uncommon procedure that bears immense risks.

“Implants like this are not safe,” he warns, per Yahoo! News. “They introduce an easy path for bacteria between the outside world and the internal body. In this case, the bone covering the brain.

“In addition, I am concerned about the amount of weight these hooks are supporting. The weight or any accidental tug on a band of gold could cause the implant to dislodge and even fracture the skull,” the doctor added.

It has been stated that even when the rapper removes the chains, he still has the permanent hooks sticking out of his head.

A dermatologist named Dr. Mona Gohara also told the publication that this could cause Sur to “experience permanent hair loss from damage to the follicle” due to the danger of permanent scarring or scalp inflammation.

While the rapper seems to be the only person with chains implanted into his skull (that we know of, at least), both medical professionals strongly urge people to adopt other safer methods to achieve the same look.GettyImages-838190850.jpg

“I would strongly discourage anyone [from undergoing this procedure], for all the risks and complications involved,” Agullo said. “Especially at a young age, long-term consequences need to be considered.

“I think there are other, more sensible, and easily reversible alternatives like wearing a wig with gold chains. I don’t believe that it needs to be anchored to your skull,” the plastic surgeon said, while Gohara added: “Be cautious! Weave in some gold strands onto your hair. You are much better off doing that.”

I guess this really puts a modern spin on Goldilocks.
