Adam Driver had a heartbreaking response when an interview asked him about his looks.
Fans have come out in their numbers to defend Driver, 40, after he was repeatedly questioned about his appearance during a new interview with Chris Wallace on his show, Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace.
While the actor was supposed to be discussing the details of his upcoming projects, he was slightly blindsided with questions about how his physical appearance has affected his overall career.
The host started by bringing up a few comparisons Driver has faced over the years, including comparisons to Al Pacino and Jack Nicholson to which the 40-year-old replied: “That’s very nice. Those are the actors that made me want to be an actor, so that’s a nice comparison.”
However, he also mentioned that he tries not to put too much emphasis on these things as he’s not always had positive comments on it.

“The New Yorker has also called me a horse-face,” he told Wallace. “I remember reading one reviewer [who said], ‘His agent probably doesn’t know whether to put him in a movie or the Kentucky Derby.’ So if you believe the good thing, you have to believe the bad thing.
“So I try to not absorb anything,” he added.
It seems as though Wallace took this as a cue to pry further, telling him that he doesn’t look like “typical movie star” stating: “Well, that leads me to the next question I wanted to ask you, which is [that] you don’t look like the typical movie star. Has that been a help or a hindrance?”
Though he tried not too look to taken aback by the sudden question, Driver still responded saying: “I’ve worked consistently, which is nice, with people I always dreamed that I wanted to work with.”
“I look how I look. I can’t change that. So, I guess it helped me,” he added, before poking fun at his appearance to try and lighten the situation.
“A hindrance in only breaking mirrors wherever I go, and having a misshapen outsized body that I can’t fit through doorways or most clothes or fit into most cars, so apart from that, it’s good,” he sarcastically added.
You would think the conversation about the topic would end there, right? But of course, Wallace just had to carry it on, asking him if he’d ever questioned if his career “would be easier” if he looked like Robert Redford.
Driver paused and then answered: “Yeah, but it would just be different. I would be giving something off.”
“Maybe I’m trying to be diplomatic. And I guess if I was alone in a room, I’m like, Who Doesn’t want to look like Robert Redford?” he continued. “I just kind of accepted this is how I look.”

The clip immediately went viral on social media, elicited a strong response from fans who slammed the line of questioning as “rude.”
“Wow this is so incredibly rude and mean for no reason,” wrote one user, while another added: “So rude and also Adam is handsome AND interesting AND intelligent. A rare combination if you ask me.”
A third also praised the actor’s mindset saying: “‘I’ve just kind of accepted this is how I look.’ I’m glad Adam has a healthy mindset and I’m sorry he had to deal with this.”
And this user added: “We don’t need to be talking about people’s bodies or perceived attraction which is SUBJECTIVE for all. We just don’t have to even go there! We all look how we look!”
Maybe we should just leave people’s physical appearances out of interviews in the future, yeah?
